When Pocket of Poppies was born, the idea of a U-pick wasnt on the radar. Then 2020 hit and we realized we wanted and needed to share what we do here at the farm and let you all experience cut flowers first hand! So jump in the car and take a ride out to the country and come smell the flowers.

What to bring
-
Sunscreen - It is hot and since you will be picking flowers in the middle of a field the sun will be shinning right on you. There are many places to find shade, but the flowers are in the full sun.

Water - Bring plenty of water to drink, we will be offering concessions, but you may get hot picking so it's always a good idea to have water on hand.

Something to take your flowers home in - we will provide a vessel to pick into and then you will transfer your flowers into your vessel, or we can wrap them for you. Or if it's the self-serve, we will have a jar for you.

Farm appropriate shoes - We are on a farm ;)

As you enter the farm drive down the driveway, we are a bit off the road so it's a short drive down the gravel road.

Park - there will be marked parking.

Head to the barn where you will get instructions of where and how to pick. IF its self-serve hours, see below on instructions and rules.

Decide on which vessel size you will fill.

Pick your blooms.

Have fun!

Snap pictures in the field or in front of our photo ops.

After you are done picking come back to the barn where we will wrap your flowers and checkout will be provided then. We accept cash, credit cards and Venmo.

Pricing
How it works

$25 Pitcher - Pick as many blooms as you can fit into our provide pitcher to use while picking your stems. Usually at least 30-40 stems can fit into it.

$65 Bucket (when available)- This is a lot of stems, but if you're up for the task, you will be awarded in many blooms to take home.

$13 Kids Vase - This is a vase especially for kids, and they get to take it home full of flowers

Certain times of the year we will be opening the farm to "Self-Serve Upick". Just as a note-this farm is not only our livelihood, it’s also our home. Opening it for self-serve requires a whole lot of trust and some rules, and we’re grateful to be able to share this little piece of our world with you. Please respect the property, the flowers, and the boundaries we’ve put in place. We’re often in and out of the garden throughout the day, but there will be a table set up with everything you need, including instructions and U-Pick rules. Please check the main page if the self serve is open and the hours for that day/week.
A few important things to know before you come:
-$25 to fill a jar, $65.00 for a bucket, which will be available at the stand.
-Please bring exact change or pay through Venmo
-Park only in the designated parking area
-Please return all snips when you’re finished
-Please stay within the designated U-Pick flower areas. You’re also welcome to enjoy the swings or use the barn only if you need the restroom. All other areas of the farm will be closed.
- No photography sessions. If you’re here to pick flowers, you’re absolutely welcome to snap a few pictures while enjoying your visit.
-No animals, please, with the exception of service animals.
-Please do not feed our animals.
Self-Serve

You are coming to a farm, so there will be all sorts of critters and bugs. With flowers come bees... so if you or someone you bring has a severe allergy please keep that in mind. The bees are usually working but know they are around.

Because we are in a field the ground may be a little rocky and uneven. Watch your step and wear secure shoes.

We LOVE animals but not everyone that comes to the farm will, so please leave your furry friend at home. If you have a service animal just let us know in advance and we will make accommodations.

Please only cut/pick the flowers you intend to put in your vase.

This is our home so we just ask you be respectful of that. We are excited to share our little slice of paradise with you. :)
